Silas Scarborough Galactic Tour
Many people have been involved with the Galactic Tour and they are listed in the order of their appearances.
June 2010: Dream Big It Just Might Happen
Silas
The Galactic Tour in Cincinnati at the 20th Century Theater.
Felicia
Felicia did the fairy dancing during the first two songs. It was dark and I couldn't see very well so I didn't realize she was dancing for the first song when I called for her for the second one. She was wiped-out but came out and danced again anyway. Her dance was delightful as she was wearing fairy wings and was trailing bubbles when she moved.
Mystery Lady
The Mystery Lady is someone I will love until I die and it was an enormous privilege to be able to perform with her again after so many years. The picture is from her solo in "Say You Say Me" and you can see her performance of it on YouTube.
A big part of the charm of it was each of us trying to give the show to each other. It was only on my insistence that she took a solo at all. The Tour will always feature the Mystery Lady any time she is available to sing.
Donika
Donika came up from Texas to dance for the show in a performance of "Woman in the Snow" and you can see the video on the Intro page. It was an extraordinary performance as we had never rehearsed the song together and the song is not a fixed length so she was improvising every step. The Raven accompanied her and did a fantastic job of it especially considering he didn't know he would be in the set until the night of the show.
The Raven
The Raven gave a brilliant performance as he knew instinctively that staying out of the spotlight would add so much to the role. Everything he did was invented during the course of the set as he had no notice on performing with Donika. It was a marvelous job of improvisation. You can see the performance on the Intro page.
Dancing Marijuana Plants
The Dancing Marijuana Plants may also have come up from Texas, we're really not sure. Sheriff G runs a speed trap in the daytime and busts Dancing Marijuana Plants at night. These Dancing Marijuana Plants just get back up and dance each time they're busted so Sheriff G gets a little frustrated. You can see the performance on YouTube.
The Freezebirds
The reunion of The Freezebirds after many years was a wonderful thing but I had let timing get away from me and we could only do one song together before we were going to be thrown out of the theater. You can see the performance on YouTube.
The Drum God was playing the electronic drum kit and The Astronomer was playing the bass. For all the times we had played together, this was the only time it was on a live stage. It was much shorter than I wanted but I'm glad it happened at all. They remain the musicians I respect most of all.
September, 2009: The Texas Jam in Addison
Ictus Belford, Kim Seifert, Silas Scarborough
At first no-one thought Ictus Belford was going to be able to be there but he arrived while I was playing and came up onto the stage. We went into his song, "Make My Day," and Kim Seifert came up to sing harmony with him. That was a really grand time and some unfortunate things came after but this jam won't be forgotten.
There's no known recording of the video or even the audio from this jam.
Thanks to Charm March for the photograph and you can see more of her real and virtual images on Flickr.
Beware of GEICO / Assurant Bankers Insurance / Charles Beall as they fraudently denied payment of the claim on equipment that was stolen. More information.
February, 2009: The Utrecht Sessions with the Born-Again Pagans
hexx Triskaidekaphobia
Sister hexx Triskaidekaphobia of Second Life and Utretcht, Holland, was the first jammer of the Galactic Tour when I went over to visit she and her wife, Sister jsmn Yao. Sister hexx loves the reggae style and she'll tell you, "Everything is just blues, man."
There are videos of the Utrecht jams with Sister hexx and I available via USTREAM. She also had a surprise guest, aurora Metaluna, who came to sing some blues.
We became family in the Utrecht jams and it was a remarkable travel together. We played but we also explored as much as we could and it was wonderful to be escorted around Holland by my sisters who live there.
You can visit Sister hexx at the Born-Again Pagans blog.
aurora Metaluna
Aurora Metaluna was the second to appear on the Galactic Tour and this was in Utrecht as well. She's known for a very sweet swinging style in her performances in Second Life but she was ripping out some blues in the Utrecht jams. Her voice has wonderful power and she's also a strikingly-beautiful lady. It was an extraordinary pleasure to meet her and jam with her.
There are videos of the Utrecht jams with aurora Metaluna, Sister hexx, and I available via the USTREAM tab at the top of the page.
You can learn more about aurora Metaluna at ReverbNation.
